Derek Devernoe
The founder and Chief Technology Officer of The Cloud Pros, Derek offers 27 years of expertise across the entire spectrum of Information Technology. Derek started his technology career doing telephone tech support for Sony PC's and worked his way up to the top through positions of Trainer, Network Administrator, Systems Engineer, Database Administrator, DevOps Engineer, Cloud Architect, IT Manager, Director of Information Technology and Senior Engineering Manager.
He worked for startups, medium sized companies like AccuData America and Wayne Automatic Fire Sprinklers and major companies also including, Walt Disney Company, Blue Cross of NC, and Solarwinds. He has always kept his technology skills at the top by direct hands on work and continual education on popular and emerging technologies. Derek has taught life safety skills for the American Red Cross and was repeatedly selected by Universities to mentor and grade Students on Information Technology, with his students going on to successful careers for large companies like Lockheed Martin.
Derek is an avid family man, outdoors man, tennis player, sailor, hockey fan and technology enthusiast. He has built cabins on the side of the mountain by hand, and cut miles of trails in the mountains. Derek holds multiple professional certifications from Google, Amazon, Microsoft, and ITIL. He has a passion for building technology solutions and an attention to detail combined with business acumen and inter personal skills that he is not only the face of The Cloud Pros, but the primary technical resource of the organization.
